- Lightning is a proprietary computer bus and power connector created by Apple Inc. to replace its previous proprietary 30-pin dock connector, intended to connect mobile devices like iPhones to host computers.
- Using 8 pins instead of 30, Lightning is significantly more compact than the 30-pin dock connector and can be inserted with either side facing up
- For the connection of devices like the iPhone 5, 5s, 6, 6plus, 6s, 6s plus, iPod Touch (5th generation), the iPod Nano (7th generation), the iPad (4th generation), and the iPad Mini (all generations)
- It is NOT compatible with cables and peripherals designed for its predecessor, unless used with an adapter
- High quality USB cable with one Type A (male) and one Lightning connector
