FO pigtails with connectors assembled on one end are mainly used for distribution of multifiber cables by means of splicing technology. For optimized splice preparation we use loose-buffered fibers providing stripping up to 1 m in one step. Fiber pigtails are assembled with connectors without strain relief, as patch panels and splice boxes offer sufficient environmental protection. The quality of connectors and fibers used determines to a great degree the insertion loss and reflexion performance of the transmission line. Factory-assembled FO pigtails guarantee exceptional optical and mechanical characteristics and a long lifetime due to use of optimized components and of a constantly controlled manufacturing process.
